Khao Chee Chan
Khao Chee Chan, Buddha Mountain and Virihana Sein only 17 minuets from Bangsaray Villa Resort. This amazing limestone mountain with the image of Buddha etched with a laser and then filled in with gold.I don’t think real gold but you never know.
Buddha Mountain is a major tourist attraction for the asian tourist because of its links to buddhism its a sacred and mystical site. The mountain is over 800m tall and is visible from miles around. This attraction is free to enter and you can spend a few hours viewing the total area.
You can leave a donation to help the conservation of this unique venue.There are many boxes to place your contribution around the grounds. There is a large parking area and some shops nearby selling trinkets and souvenirs.
Virihana SeiOther tourist attractions near by include Viriharna Sein and again only 17 minuets from Bangsaray. This is like a Chinese museum holding many ancient artefacts, there are some priceless pieces. The main upper floor houses some amazing bronze statues in various poses. Well worth a visit and at the time it was 40 Baht entrance fee.
Virihana Sein can also be known as Vihana sein, Viharn Sein.
Just down the road is the very popular Wat Yan Warraram this sits the other side of a beautiful lake. This area is like a park with many other Buddhist temples near by. You can spend many hours here because its such a beautiful place.
The main temple in this area sits high on an elevated plinth some 400 steps to reach the top. After you have ascended you are in awe of the fantastic views.
