Why Visit Bangsaray
Why visit Bangsaray, or Sai Kaew Beach. Because just 25 minuets from Pattaya is Bangsaray Village. This small area is popular with the Bangkok people for their weekend retreat. Many have 2nd homes or condos here. The main attraction is the beach. Bangsaray beach is virtually un-spoilt with its long stretch sand from the Pier to the resort of Sea & Sand.
On the beach you will find several vendors selling Food and drink and chairs for rent. Similarly there are several bars and restaurants that line the beach road on the opposite side. Above all you are spoilt for choice for seafood restaurants.
For instance there are 4 just past the pier on the sea front, they sit above the sea on stilts. In addition they give great views out to sea. With Pattaya and Jomtien in the distance and the mountain that is the Thai Navy Base to the left.
During the week this beach is very quiet with only a few locals. Either spending their lunch break or expats out for a day trip to the beach. However at the weekend the mood changes and the beach comes alive. Many are from out of town. Thais Mainly visiting the area for the weekend or public holidays.
Bangsaray Beach a nice retreat away from the main city of Pattaya. Similarly Sai Kaew beach inside the Navy base is a popular beach for those in the Know.
Sai Kaew in Thai translates to white sand. This little gem is to be found just off the main Sukumvit Highway. Go past the main traffic lights at Bangsaray. Then at the second set turn left, this is to the entrance of the Navy Base. You will have to exchange your passport for a pass at the desk. This is just inside the base about 50m on the left.
once you have the pass you will travel straight till you reach a check point. Here they will check the pass and wave you through. Continue then you will have to bear left with the road. About 1km you will see the sign for tickets to Sia kao beach.
