Wat Samakkhi Banphot the first Temple In Bangsaray beach side of Sukumvit in Bangsaray Village.
Thailand is mainly a Buddhist country therefore over 90% of the population are Buddhist. However there is an Islamic element in the south of Thailand mainly in the Satun,Yala and Pattani provinces.
Get to The Temple
Therefore we turn right on Sukumvit at the Bangsaray junction, heading from Pattaya to Sattahip. However the Wat apears on the right hand side about 500km.
From the main Buddha platform we are elevated giving us a great view over the village. The Platform was just completed in 2021.
However the Main temple is decorated with much gold and bright stone jewels, therefor well worth a visit.
Wat Bang Saray Kongkharam (Wat Luang Pho Thong Yu)
This Wat is located just past the junction with the two 7 Elevens heading towards the beach. Located near to the beach, however this is a popular Temple for locals of Bangsaray Village. The area also holds an evening market on Wednesday evenings, starting at around 4pm.
The car park at Wat Bang Saray Kongkharam this becomes the Wednesday Evening market. This Market is very popular with Locals and expats. For instance Its a great place to visit to sample real Thai experience and pick up some fresh fruit and veg.
Temples just outside Bangsaray
Wat Khao Bamphen Bun located just after Nong Nooch Gardens. Well worth a visit to see the great views over Bangsaray.
The area below is the new Chocolate Factory now being constructed. This photo was taken July 2021. Hopefully to be open early 2022.
Wat Yan Sang Wararam Worawihan. This Temple is located within walking distance of Bangsaray Villa. A very peaceful and calm area, above all stroll around enjoy the temple in addition there is plenty of shaded to keep cool.
The Entrance to Wat Yan Sang Wararam, for instance just 260m from Bangsaray Villa Resort. Turn left from the Villas after that you will see the wat on the left just after the junction.
