If you like beaches then Koh Samet is your choice. That is to say the island has many options. For instance Private hotel/ resort  beaches to a basic cabin room on the beach Just 40 minuets away from the mainland in Rayong, Koh Samet offers a break away from the city hustle. Relax or explore the island, this won’t take long because from north to south it is 4.2 miles so, consequently covering 5square miles in area. Hire a motobike for 200 baht a day and visit the beaches. 

The most popular beach is Sai Kaew Beach  however this is the most developed.If you want peace and quiet then avoid this area. On the other hand if you like loud music and crowds with lots of eating and bar options then you’ve found paradise. Plenty of Watersport action is also available here.

If your looking for peace and quiet then head to Prao beach on the west side of the Island. This is a private area with 4 resort hotels.

Rocks Koh Samet

Ao Kiu Na Nok

This is the most southern Beach if your looking for isolation.The rest of the southern tip of the Island is mainly rocks. Nimmanoradee Resort is the main resort in this area. There are a selection of small cabins for you to choose. However you are about 20 mins away from the next area by Motorcycle.

Ao Phai is next to Sai Kaew Beach with 3 choices of hotel, this is more a laid back traveller location Ideal for backpackers.

Ao Vong Duen 

This is another popular beach with clear waters and more choice of restaurants.
La Lune beach Resort and Vongdeuan Resort are in the location.

At weekends Koh Samet gets busy with many from Pattaya and Bangkok looking for that relaxing Break.There are many choices of accommodation with all budgets catered for.

From Pattaya its about 2 hours away and then the ferry or speedboat about 40 mins.
